Top 10 games that hog your hard drive

Solid state drives are crazy fast and should be bundled with every new gaming rig. But they're also smaller in capacity than traditional hard drives, which makes us hate the ridiculous install sizes of the following games even more.

GameSpy ran the numbers and found that The Old Republic hogs almost 20 freakin' gigs of hard drive space. Meanwhile, Rage and Tera each steal 25 gigs apiece, while Max Payne 3 wipes a whopping 35 gigs of space.

At the same time, Skyrim has been dubbed one of the largest most expansive game worlds ever, and yet it uses only 7 gigs in comparison, a fraction of these offensively obese games. 

The worst of them all? X-Plane 9. A full install will cost you a gargantuan 70 gigs of hard drive space. That's crazy!

In terms of size, which game installs do you find most frustrating?

It's not hard to believe that some MMO's are so huge but I can't believe skyrim is on 7 GB.

You should download big games out night. It makes it less frustrating.

This reminds me that I should take SWTOR and Rage off my hard drive.

Downloading Source Filmaker was a mistake. It was a pretty big download for something I couldn't even comprehend let alone use. It was frustrating.

Personally never had such problem. My most consuming HDD space game is 9 GB. With 500 GB HDD it's not a problem.

TW:Shogun 2 + Fall of Samurai, now that's overwhelmingly dominant over MP3... My main drive is 72gb and I constantly have to install the games into my second hdd and what a hassle that is.
