Interview with dignitas.SeleCT - “When I have big matches, I prepare for the match based on the map.”

How do you think you have been performing recently?

I have not been performing my best recently.

How did MLG Anaheim go for you?

It didn't go too well. I was kind of unlucky too. I am very good with TvT and TvP right now, but I never got those match ups. I only got TvZ as my match up.

How do you prepare for big matches? How do you train?

When I have big matches, I prepare for the match based on the map. I think about the possibility of what my opponent would do, and prepare my strategy. I also make sure the new strategy is trained into my hands and brain, so I don't forget what I'm doing in matches.

SC2 is such a rough environment with unknowns beating big stars and such. What would you say is the best way to get continued top results?

It is simple. Constant practice.

What are your views on balance at the moment?

At the moment, to be honest, I am very depressed about Zerg. I think they are a bit too strong for me. Their Queen buff, and Overlord speed buff made let them get away with being greedy. Before the patch, they were trying to balance the game with the map because they thought Zerg was kind of week on ladder maps, so they made a fix to the maps for Zerg to be better. However, now they got both a balance buff and the map advantage. This is only my opinion though ^^.

Are you excited for HOTS, did you play it at Anaheim?

Yes, I am very excited to play it once it comes out since I am very talented at playing new games.

No, I haven't played it because it isn't that helpful for pro players to play it right now. They have to stay used to Wings of Liberty as they are playing tournaments, also Heart of the Swarm will be constantly changing as the balance can't be perfect for a new game.

Can you remember the first time you earned money or a prize from pro-gaming?

Yes, I remember it very well :). When I was a Warcraft 3 player, and it was like the second tournament in Korea, there were no tournaments at all except this one called Zoa gaming tournament. I couldn't play in the first one because I didn't get invited.

However, I got invited to the second one, and I got 2nd beating SK.May and SK.Sweet :D. That inspired me.

Can you describe how it felt?

Since, it is my first time earning money playing a game. It felt so good. You play a game that you love and you’re earning money at the same time.

How are you finding your Alienware laptop?

I've always loved this laptop. It is heavy, but if you think how heavy a desktop is, it is not heavy at all because they are as good as a desktop or better.

Are you going to stream more?

Yes, I am planning to stream a lot soon. :)

You played Dawn of War 40k at a very high level. Can you remember the switch to Starcraft 2 and how was it?

I actually quit playing DOW 40k right after the WCG 2006 because there were no more tournaments. After quitting DOW 40k, I was attending school in the US and only focused on studying. :)

So you played Eldar in Dawn of War, if you could take one Eldar unit into Starcraft 2 what would it be?

Guardians -- > Marine (both are basic shooting units)

Reapers -- > Marauders (both are anti-heavy armor units)

I always like to micro units, the reason why I picked Eldar is because they don't have melee units just like Terran. So, it would come down to my micro.

You are about to be dropped off in the middle of the jungle, what 3 items do you bring with you into the jungle?

A flashlight, a knife, and a lighter.
