This change your mind? Black Ops II getting dedicated servers
June 18th, 2012

The Call of Duty series has always been a top-seller on PC. But since largely quitting dedicated servers after the release of Modern Warfare in 2007, the franchise took a competitive back seat on PC to games such as Team Fortress, Battlefield, and the omnipresent Counter-Strike, which stayed on dedicated servers.
This weekend, however, a Black Ops II developer "confirmed" dedicated servers for ranked matches, in addition to the unranked matchers the machines handled on last year's Modern Warfare 3.
Of course, none of this matters if the game is unbalanced. At the same time, it kind of feels like Activision is envious of all the praise, play, and staying power Battlefield 3 has enjoyed recently on PC. And so they've seemingly gotten serious about online multiplayer again.
Black Ops II arrives Nov. 13 on PC and is the first Call of Duty game set in the future. What do you think, readers? Does the announcement of dedicated servers for Black Ops II change your mind about Call of Duty on PC?

You don't buy it. Money is the only language these massive developers understand.
They lack the personal connection of a low budget indie game and they lack a community akin to the Elders Scrolls community that is active in demanding what they want.
They will keep putting out these crap, cookie cutter cods until enough of the community stops buying them. It doesn't matter if you get their communities on the forums to complain, even if it is the common opinion because in the end they already have your money.
