Two years ago, Vigil Games released a solid modern Zelda clone for PC: Darksiders. It wasn't a great game. But it was pure hack-n-slash on PC, a rarity for the platform.
This week, the developer released a sequel: Darksiders II. And all indications are it's an even better game than the original. Longer lasting. A captivating and polished combat system. And better graphics ontop of imaginative art design.
Unfortunately, there's no graphics sliders — although the PC version looks noticeably better than its dated console counterparts. It's a tad buggy (the world map can stall your game at times) and I would have liked tighter mouse and keyboard controls.
But none of these are a deal-breakers. Just minor bumps along a well traveled road. A good little single player action/adventure game to finish out the summer.
