The Entertainment Software Association (the largest video game cooperative of its kind) last week released its 2012 report.
One of the most interesting tidbits: Popular PC genres compared to console ones show that PC games are largely played alone in person, as charted by Hot Hardware:
As you can see, strategy dominates PC (as previously covered), followed by RPGs (including MMOs and stand-alones like Skyrim), then casual games like the Sims, Plants vs. Zombies, and Farmville.
Shooters take the fourth spot, followed by adventure games and action games in a distant fifth and sixth place. Less than a combined 5% play sports, racing, family entertainment, or flying games.
On the flip side, action, shooters, and sports games dominate consoles.
What do you think of the news?
