Screwed again! Bye Bye M18xr2

Sending my rig back for a refund. Dell once again screwed us. We were offered 18 months financing instead of 12 months due to all the issues we had ordering from dell. we would have never went through the transaction proccess knowing that they would lie to us. We cant afford another car payment. :(

We will be saving up to buy from Xotic pc instead. Having heard nothing but great things about them is simply the smartest choice.

What went wrong? And do you mean you're going to order an Alienware from Xiotic instead? You know they get them from Dell right?

I didn't chose the thug life, the thug life chose me.

You know... There's a reason you don't buy shit you can't pay for.

There's a reason I drop cold hard cash on things as important as a high end laptop.
I saved up and paid the full 1250$ for the M14X, I paid the full 1098$ for my M11X, and I paid in full the 2155$ for my M17X and the 193$ for the upgrades.
I saved up then dropped 2.3grand on a laptop. Why don't others have the sense to do the same? Credit Sucks, use your head.
XoticPC will give you the same alienware, but you'll have to pay them in full JUST LIKE I DID.

Credit plans are only for things that you cant just drop paid in full for even if you saved for yeas, IE Cars, Houses, ect.
Don't go and get a 3000$ laptop if you can't pay for it.

So I assume Dell offered 18 month financing but at the end insisted to get the money in 12 months, right?
If so, Fran, your comment is just not right. If you calculate that you can spare 200 bucks a month you go ahead and make the purchase which will cost you eg 150 a month. But if than Dell changes its mind and forces you to pay 250 bucks a month its clear you cannot afford it anymore...

How does credit suck? Please PLEASE do not talk about thing you know nothing about. I am an educated finance specialist, i know banking system so please. Credit is good, just use it wisely. Also some shops offer true 0% credit just to make a sale. Is that bad?...

Anyways mjaaski, i hope you'll get you laptop from Xotic soon enough, it sucks that your experience with Dell has been rather poor:(

thank you!

Acutally my wife ordered it for xmas. she knows how much we can afford. we cant just throw $3000 on a laptop. we have money saved for emergency purposes but not for a gaming laptop. its fun to game and have one but its not the most important thing in life. i was surprised to see that comment from fran. she has helped me out alot with getting this rig setup as i have been away from a computer in years. Its dells service. They actually tried to give us $300 refund, but when we called back they told they cant do that. I never asked for anything, they offered all this to us.

Its not the M18xr2 that im having problems with. Its dell!

Well, you could try and shop around for a low interest credit but i doubt you will find any. Not in this economy. Banks are even too careful about giving any kind of loans

I got my m15x on credit - it was pay in full before 12 months and pay no interest or 36 monthly payments after 12 months - it suited me fine and i paid it off under 12 months - I bought my Samsung UE46D8000 LED TV on credit - it was also pay in full befor 6 with no extra intrest or 36 monthly payments after so i paid it under 6 months - CREDIT IS GOOD if you do it right

Comment still stands. Don't buy shit you cant pay for.
I learned that a long time ago.

You shouldn't really be surprised, because of the ethics involved. I believe that credit is a bad system that needs to be reserved for necessities of life resolutions.

If you guys couldn't pay for it, why did you get it in the first place? I never look at credit plans. to me that seems desperate, and it tells to me that someone has no sense of what a dollar really means.
Want Want Want, Consume Consume Consumer.
Over 50% of Americans are in debt, keep feeding into that model thats failing. Especially when we live in a time of MASSIVE Finacial corruption, and legal lobbying.

There's a serious issue with the american/eastern Consume culture. No one cares for social responcibilties or obligations.

Thats why I pay for everything outright. PLUS Fuck interest, paying an extra premium for something so you can pay companies money they don't deserve.

Cmon think about it.
Hit me up if you go with XoticPC. I've helped a few others with XoticPC purchases as well.

Sorry to hear about your issues from Dell, that's why whenever a company offers me any type of incentive for issues I’ve had, I get it in writing first. If you have it in writing, companies are usually more inclined to honor it.

As for purchasing anything with credit, this is a double edge sword. It's a fantastic alternative to paying out right if you don't have the money up front, but you do need to look at yourself and ask if you can truly make that type of commitment to pay it off in full.

I've purchased many thing with 0& interest for the first year, and I’ve had great success in getting it paid in full by said year. I've also over stepped my bounds and paid for it in the end (pun intended). Even when I’ve gone over my head, I still make my monthly payments and keep my credit top notch. Interest sucks though.

Having a good credit score, is a necessity these days... but if you never use credit you have no credit score,(just as bad as having bad credit) Thus having horrible interest rates on things such as cars and houses. Just know your limits, and work out your budget beforehand.

People are afraid of the unknown. You don't like credits because you don't understand them. Those who do, can use them to their advantage, simple.

Besides, how is scenario described by stupreme, bad? Shop around, read the contract before signing. There really are true 0% payment options and its worth to use them even if you have the money to pay right away.

Why use credit and pay more? Money devaluates, there is inflation. 2000 bucks will offer lowe purchasing power in 2 years than now. to put it in theoretical numbers; Today $2000 = 2100 in 2015. of course there is a formula used for calculating the future value of money but the idea is; credit is good and sometimes, when future money value is taken into consideration, it may even be cheaper to go ahead with low interest payment plan than save to pay all at once.

You've got a lot of incorrect asumptions there.
Maybe

Just maybe, if people would stop throwing their opinions in the air like thats the only thing that matters and instead asked for an explination maybe, just maybe you guys might learn something.
