I just bought an x51 (moving the rig to soviet russia was a challenge) and wanted to upgrade it a bit. The major point that I'm concerned about (and some other guys in the forums as well) is:
1) How should the 330W PSU handle the 670 (reference one) instead of 555? If it is a risk to put one inside? If yes, could replacement of the hard drive with an ssd help the situation?
A few questions about the x51 not directly related to the psu:
2) Can I somehow add an ssd to the current configuration? Or will I have to replace the hard drive with it?
3) Which motherboards other than H61 will fit in X51?
4) Current top-performing RAMs require decent power and make some heat. Would you place any limits for the RAM to be used in an X51?
On a separate power-related matter - if you're a specialist here, what headroom of power (in percentage of the nominal psu output) would you recommend to leave unused?
Many thanks!
