  • 47

Last year it was announced that the MMO title Final Fantasy 14 will not last long on the old PlayStation 3. The server shutdown date is set on 16th June of this year, before that Square Enix will to the loyal players for the last goodbye give - a month of playing without subscription .

Starting with 01/05, Final Fantasy 14 will no longer require a monthly subscription on the PS3 console. This does not mean that players on PS4 and PC platforms will be honoured with the same treatment, but all new users will still get 30 days of free play - when they buy the game. Square Enix also reminds on the offer of the upgrade with which the owners of the PS3 version the game can get for free on the PS4 console.

Well, the only reasons they would do that is the lack of players or too much costs to develop and no substantial profit from it. So I think it's fair.

Interstellar

Unfortunately, all online games are bound to suffer the same fate at some point. You can't expect companies to keep servers alive when there's no more revenue stream to sustain it.

Challenger

Happens every game will be "old" some time und will go down at some point sadly :/

The only FF (with the XI) that I never played. Don't really like these online only versions.
