Ark: Survival Evolved's Volcano Is About to Erupt (And You'll Want to Dive In Later)
To make it simple: Ark: Survival Evolved’s long-dormant volcano, situated near the center of the game’s Island map, is about to blow, and developer Wildcard is strongly suggesting that anyone in the immediate vicinity kindly steps out of the way. People who now expect the perfect spot for a base or metal farming will then find a pool of lava.
What does that mean for us gamers? Firstly, all dinosaurs and structures at the summit will be destroyed in flames when the volcano awakens during the new patch. Studio Wildcard is telling players to make sure they move their characters and all structures and belongings out of the crater before the patch comes back up, or they could lose everything. After the update, players will no longer be possible to to build structures around the summit on PvE servers. Structures on PvP servers, meanwhile, will take greater damage, as they do in caves elsewhere on the Island. Luckily, Wildcard implemented in-game markers to illustrate the volcano’s new danger zone.
However, just like a phoenix, new content - such as the entrance to the "Tek Cave" - will arise from the ashes. This new Tek Cave may be newest most dangerous cave there is in the game, as players require Boss and Alpha Predator trophies to enter. Are you ready for this new adventure?
