Call of Duty: WWII mode with zombies is based on real events

Head of development of the game Call of Duty: WWII in the interview for EDGE magazine has said how the traditional Zombie mode will be very authentic and based on real events that really happened. Unless our agreed history is a lie, we know that there were no zombies in World War II, so Glen Schofield actually talks nonsense to promote his game as much as possible.
However, even though his statement was immediately ridiculed on the Internet (us it reminded of Giant Enemy Crab), actually is questioned whether the story of Zombie mode is really pure fiction or maybe there is a shred of truth in it?
After all, a part of the Nazi leadership has been studying occultism and it is unknowingly that the Nazis before the very end of the war in panic searched any way to reverse the situation which was by no means favorable to them. With so much story about superhuman, is it really ridiculous to say that Zombie mode can be based on real events?
