Romero sold Doom 2 floppies for $ 3150, wait for more "junk" from John's attic

Over the years of working in the gaming industry ... and just being near her (because nothing serious has been done since then), John Romero has amassed an extensive collection of memorabilia. Apparently, now he decided to free his attic, at the same time and earn on his memory.

This week in eBay, an auction was launched, where John Romero put up his own release copies of Doom 2 floppy disks for sale. Bets started with some $ 10. As a result, the buyer won, who offered $ 3150 for five floppy disks - or 37 thousand rubles per floppy disk. For comparison, today for the cost of a single diskette in Moscow, you can buy 2 SSD 512 GB.

The Shacknews publication contacted Romero, and judging by his words, there is a whole series of trades in the old things of John ahead of us.

Romero said that he and his wife Brenda have collected a lot of things in the game industry for 35 years. When they moved to Ireland, the container with their belongings was detained at customs, because the agents did not believe that all this belongs to a married couple, and not to a video game store. Moreover, he has 7-10 copies of some things.

Romero honestly admitted that he plans to sell other things on eBay. He and his wife plan to transfer some of the things to charity.

I knew some of these articles sounded like bad translations. I guess this confirms it:
