What Fortnite, PUBG sold in more than 20 million copies

  • 13

Yesterday we wrote about how Epic Games boasted that Fortnite passed over 20 million users, summed up with users of Fortnite Battle Royale mode. It was an attempt of Epic to draw attention from the best-selling new game this year, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. However, PUBG developers did not remain obliged - they now boasted that PUBG was sold in more than 20 million copies.

If we look at this as a competition with Fortnite, the development team Bluehole  virtually says: we have earned more on our game. Namely, Fortnite Battle Royale is free, or F2P segment of the game that is being sold, but it will also be the F2P title .... Yes, it's complicated.

In any case, it's interesting to have a direct acknowledgment by developers that is boasting with 20 million copies sold, that part of fans are not happy how the game is developing and progressing. The team to the fans tells that they work diligently on the fixes and that changes are coming.

I still don't fully understand how this game has sold so much. I'd understand like 2 million numbers with the twitch success that it had but 20 million?! And it's not even out on consoles.

I wonder if china sales are like 70-80% of the population by now.
