Square Enix did not give up Deus Ex series, there will be more games

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided did not repeat the success of its predecessor, at least as far as sales results is concerned. Due to the fact that Square Enix for a similar reason terminated the cooperation with Hitman creators, it became uncertain what would happen to Deus Ex. Fortunately, president of Square Enix is convinced that this series has a future then that it will one day return with at least one more game.

"We never said we would cross out this series, but for some reason there were rumors about it. I can say that Eidos Montreal has always developed Deus Ex games, but the problem is just that we do not have unlimited resources. We have several great games on which we are working and this is partly reason why our offer is what it is. Of course it would be ideal if we could work on all the series at the same time, but the fact is that some games have to wait for their turn. The reason there is no new Deus Ex title is that we are currently working on other games" - stated Square Enix Chairman Yosuke Matsuda.

One of these other games referred to by Matsuda is Marvel's Avengers high-budget project. Eidos Montreal this game develops in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics, makers of Tomb Raider. It will be an action game from third person with elements of online multiplayer, and it will tell a completely original story unrelated to movies about Avengers.
