Epic Games made an agreement with a fourteen-year Fortnite cheater
Epic Games nearly two months ago filed a complaint to the North Carolina federal court with which accusing two players for cheating in their free battle royale mode for Fortnite, which was launched on 26 September of this year. Namely, both of them violated Epic's copyrights as well as the End User License Agreement for which the developer embarked on a crusade ignoring the fact that one of the accused is only 14 years old.
According to new information, Epic Games and a juvenile cheater came to the court, but soon they've reached an agreement. Developer from a boy is asking that he refrains from further copyright infringement, to destroy all the tools he used to cheat and never again to repeat that. If the fourteen-year-old breaches the deal, that is if Epic finds he's back to old habits, he will have to pay five thousand dollars.
Epic Games gave a statement claiming that the company had no idea of the age of the person they've decided to sue nearly two months ago, and that his mother's firm intent that in the letter to the developer confirm the full name and address of her underage boy is actually what exposed her child. Also, Epic has committed in the future to use only the boy's initials to protect the privacy of him, but also his family.
