FIFA 19 could have an unexpected cover star
The appearance on the cover of the FIFA series is a special honor in the soccer world. FIFA games came out the last 26 years and each on the cover had at least one football player who before everything was highlighted by his performances on the field.
At the beginning of the 2000s, those were mostly stars of the English Premiership, and since 2012 started era of Lionel Messi all until 2016, when on the cover of Fifa appeared Marco Reus. The appearance of Reus on the cover was a bit of a precedent because he was chosen by fans among several other potential stars of the soccer world. EA Sports for Fifa 18 did not hold a fan vote but instead on the cover was put Cristiano Ronaldo, but fans continued the tradition of choosing a favorite star for the cover.
On the portal Fifaplay like that there is a poll in which fans choose footballers for Fifa 19, and the results of this survey might surprise even EA Sports. Namely, world-famous footballers such as Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Muller received about 20% of all votes. If it is to judge by the poll, FIFA fans want Liverpool's attacker Mohamed Salah to be the face of the new game.
This popularity of the Egyptian is not accidental because last weekend it was confirmed that the same is playing in his life form. In the current season he scored amazing 37 goals, and thus equaled with the results of greats such as Didier Drogba, Robin van Persie and Cristiano Ronaldo. Till the end of the season there is still six more games.
Salah in this poll has picked up more than 118 thousand votes, what definitely is not negligible but the question remains whether EA Sport has sufficient marketing significance to include him on the cover of the best-selling sports simulation. It is true that neither Reus was in the most famous team in the world, but he is a member of the nation that manages a significant share in the sale of the FIFA series, and the same can not be said for Salah and his Egypt.
