Mafia 4 would have been located in Las Vegas, but nothing from that

Earlier this year, we received information that Studio Hangar 13, credited with Mafia 3, fired a significant number of its workers. At that moment it seemed that the studio would no longer work on the mafia series, but how do we found from the portal Kotaku, Mafia 4 one time was in their plans.

During 2017 the team was divided into two parts. One part worked on DLC packages for Mafia 3, while the other part created ideas for the next project. In the beginning, Mafia 4 supposed to be located in Las Vegas in the 1970s, but in agreement with the 2K Games publishing house, they were given the opportunity to work on a completely new IP, what most of the team actually wanted.

A project called Rhapsody, a spying game set in Berlin in the 1980s, was created. The main character of the game was a Russian Jew who through the spy organization Rhapsody looks for revenge against bad regime. In this game music had to play an important role, for example, in the "detective" mode you would enter with the help of music.

This idea from Hangar 13 developers has led to a whole new performance - Rhapsody has become a game where music is used as a weapon and creates different, strange effects. For example, when the game played "Eye of the Tiger", with a proper execution player would call a tiger to help him fight.

Unfortunately, this project got stuck in the development phase and was rated as impractical. According to the sources close to the studio, this idea has been abandoned and it is now unclear on what 115 employees of Hangar 13 are actually working.
