The Age of Wonders series since its appearance 19 years ago and until the third part in 2014 was turned towards fantasy theme. However, next year things will go in the opposite direction. The development team Triumph Studios and the publishing house Paradox have announced Age of Wonders: Planetfall - a strategic Sci-Fi turn-based game.

Planetfall will to Age of Wonders present a futuristic technology, mechs, lasers and all other motives. The game will include a singleplayer campaign, but also a multiplayer.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall should come on PC in 2019.

I've played Shadow Magic and Age of Wonders II. Very great games for their times, comparable to Heroes of Might and magic, albeit with a grander scale battle.

Never imagined a sci fi theme to Age of Wonders. It may be a good change because the fantasy theme of the previous games was very akin to a bootleg Tolkien.

Only problem i see, is that a lot of people will compare it to Civ Beyond Earth, with a turn based game having a similar transition to a sci fi theme.
