Dying Light 2 is brighter while displaying environment, but darker in its tone
Dying Light from 2015 was exceptionally successful for the Polish team Techland, and an announcement of the sequel was just a matter of time. And it came when we had least expected - during the Microsoft E3 conference that took place yesterday.
Dying Light 2 has been announced with a single trailer and display of gameplay, and was announced to us by Chris Avellon, a narrative designer who worked on talented stories such as Fallout 2, Star Wars: KOTOR 2 and the recent Prey. Avellone's influence was immediately visible in a somewhat darker tone of the game, without zombies and their feast.
The darker tone is that the city around the player will show the consequences of his actions. We've heard it a million times, but most missions in Dying Light 2 should be able to end in two different ways. It looks like these are not solutions with a good or bad outcome because each one brings a certain bonus, but also the side effects that the player might not have hoped for.
Dying Light 2 we will play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
