Cyberpunk 2077 is being made for current generation of consoles

CD Projekt RED said it did not want to talk about a possible release date for its SciFi RPG Cyberpunk 2077 until it is near finished. Now this is still not the case so it is questionable whether we are going to play the game next year. And in the far year 2020 we are expecting new gaming platforms, so it's not excluded that Cyberpunk will appear on those.

However, from the CD Projekt they told that you do not have to worry if you own PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Although Cyberpunk could emerge on a new generation of consoles, the game definitely evolves with older hardware in mind.

"I've heard a number of people say that," Quest Designer Patrick Mills told Game Informer at E3 when asked if Cyberpunk might be a next-gen game. "The current console generation is what we're aiming for. We are aiming for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and of course PC as well."

Such a plan is, of course, quite reasonable since about 100 million players currently own the PS4 and XBOX consoles, which is immediately in start a bigger and more cost-effective market than the next-gen consoles that have not yet been announced.
