Cyberpunk 2077 will have its own TV schedule

If you're even a little familiar with cyberpunk genre, then you know that it involves a wide circle of things. Likewise, the second thing you certainly know is that in most of the titles that are called cyberpunk there is a huge glut of information. TV screens are located on every corner, neon light signs are filled with countless commercials, people on the streets are constantly talking into the microphone.

CD Projekt team for its upcoming title Cyberpunk 2077 decided to take things seriously and plans to create a world that would match its dedication to the worlds we expect from a cyberpunk title. One of the most interesting ideas in this endeavor is - virtual television.

This is not the first time we see something similar in video games - Remedy Entertainment studio titles, such as Max Payne and Alan Wake, are well-known in the concept of watching fictitious TV shows inside the game - however, TV in Cyberpunk 2077 will be much more than sporadic episodes that we can only bump into at certain moments.

"We plan to make a whole network of TV channels," said Mike Pondsmith, a board game developer who used CD Projekt as the basis for their game and a collaborator in the development process, in an interview with PCGN. "In the game we will have a TV guide that will show one week of programming then [sic] in-depth on several programs."

TV channels will not necessarily be of a serious nature, he said, but the content may be somewhat more like programs from the popular animated series Rick and Morty. "We threw all kinds of stupid ideas and made TV channels based on them," Pondsmith commented creative process behind their virtual television version.

In any case, it might be interesting. The Polish have already shown themselves as competent writers. But we are still interested in that other thing - when will Cyberpunk be released!?
