First Look at GOG Galaxy 2.0 Launcher of Launchers in Closed Beta
GOG Galaxy 2.0 is presently in closed beta and promises to consolidate all your launchers into GOG's own Steam-like client. The closed beta version looks pretty good even though it currently only integrates GOG and Xbox Live.
Other launchers like Battle.net, Epic, Origin, PlayStation Network, Steam, and Uplay are all currently available as community-created integrations.
However, what is currently available is already pretty impressive. The reviewer notes that the interface is already smooth and easy to use. Games can be viewed all at once, or by specific sorts with custom tagging and rating systems. Achievements and progress tabs can also be included if the original launcher supports it.
A huge plus in the future would be the ability to add "cross-platform chat” and to have “one friends list.” For now in the closed beta, these features have yet to be enabled. But based on whats already available so far, GOG Galaxy 2.0 certainly seems ready to be the launcher to end all launchers.
