Latest PS3 emulator update brings about extra frames and the ability to apply higher Hz to alomst any game

The latest version of RPCS3 is packed with nice improvements that make running games allot smoother and best of all come at no cost. I've been playing old games like Skate, Dante's inferno and Earth Worm Jim HD and they're all easily playable at 120Hz on my monitor and it can been seen as gameplay feels as smooth as butter. I will edge people not to use the emulators built in V-sync if possible and rather enable V-sync or any sync you use directly through your graphics cards settings panel as I've noticed in some games the built in emulator one creates very noticeable input lag.

This post is about you now being able to hit higher fps due to their Hz rate in the options finally functioning as intended)for most games) some you'll have to double it's value to get the intended result whereas others may not work at all BUT MOST WORK now and all the games I've tried have had a nice boost to gameplay smoothness.

The improvements the emulator has released recently has only aided this as they've managed to squeeze more fps in most games without any added strain to PC running it so it's really a good thing overall for anyone trying to play one of their old games!

You also don't require an amazing PC but you do need a graphics card and preferably a CPU with many cores to mimic the PS3 system more accurately and allow your OS to continue to do it's things during your gaming sessions.

Basically any 6 core CPU is a good start(if possible) and above 3.4Ghz(or higher if possible) You can't go wrong with more RAM but I haven't noticed a difference yet with higher quantities or Speeds so I'll say if you have 8GB of DDR3 or newer RAM then you're sorted in that department. Now the tough part is the graphics card, I'd say go as high as you can. The whole RTX series from Nvidia aren't going to add much as you won't be getting any form of Raytraycing but realistically a card like a Gtx970, or Gtx1060 or higher will leave you running allot of the games very smoothly. Some games aren't yet playable and some are only playable enough to hit a solid 30FPS, some get artifacts while others look better than their origional console could ever make them look. Also with a graphics card that has over 4GB of graphics memory you should be able to boost most things to 4k without any hassle as the higher resolution doesn't affect how the emulator functions and adds next to no extra load for games you can already play.

Don't go and upscale a game which you're barely managing at the native resolution as it's really not aiding the situation.
