The Voice Actor of TF2's Soldier, Rick May, has passed away from the COVID-19 virus

The COVID-19 virus has unfortunately struck another victim recently, that being the voice actor of the gun loving Soldier from Valve's popular team based competitive game Team Fortress 2.

As taken from John Patrick Lowrie's (Sniper's voice actor) facebook:

"Last evening as I was casually going through Facebook I came across a posting that truly shocked me, my friend Rick May had passed away due to Covid-19. I hadn’t seen him since December of last year when he recorded what has sadly now turned out to be his last turn as Inspector Lestrade for our radio series “The Further Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.” Rick had played the part since the third episode back in 1998 and was the longest running actor in the role in the history of broadcasting. The posting said he’d suffered a heart attack in February of this year, which I knew nothing about. He was also dealing with cancer; I think he might have bragged that it took a pandemic to bring him down."

Rick May was suffering from multiple health problems, including dealing with cancer (allegedly throat cancer, as it was the reason he could no longer do the screaming, as he was replaced with Nolan North instead in the TF2 Expiration Date video), and having a heart attack in February.

He was known for voice acting on multiple other games throughout his career, including Peppy Hare in Star Fox, Dr. M. in Sly 3 and even some voice lines in Age of Empires II. He was 79 years old, and his death was reported by the Rekindle School where May was a teacher.

Rest in peace to the person bringing us one of the most memorable character in a competitive game
