Vaas is maybe returning for next Far Cry

The actor who embodied the legendary villain in Far Cry 3 hinted at Vaas' possible return.

It wouldn't be surprising too much that Ubisoft is preparing Far Cry 6, or whatever would they call their next Far Cry game. However, it would be surprising if Vaas Montenegro returned, the crazy antagonist, who marked Far Cry 3 with his unpredictable behavior, and that is exactly what could follow.

Specifically, actor Michael Mando, who borrowed Vaas both his face and his voice, recently had AMA session on Reddit where he received unmissable question: do people still recognize him as Vaas. To what Mando replied:

Vaas is my spirit animal - having a co-created character that is something that will always be dear to me. I still get recognized as Vaas, and I still feel the outpouring of love for that character - makes me very happy. Who knows ... maybe I will reprise the role very soon? : p

Mando hinting is not confirmation that Vaas will be back in the game, but we somehow doubt he would have mentioned it at all if he was completely done with the character. After Far Cry, Mando has had extremely successful engagements, including the Better Call Saul series.

In the event that Vaas does indeed return in the next Far Cry, it would be a chronological obstacle as he could only star in a game that takes place before Far Cry 3. Or maybe Ubisoft is preparing a full remake of Far Cry 3?
