Truck & Logistics Simulator releases on the 23rd of June 2020!

Virtual truckers all know the games Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. Those are the games to have when you want to virtually drive a truck. But there are many other truck simulator games out there as well. Maybe their quality isn't exactly at par with the mentioned games above, but therefore they are no less fun to have a peek at!

Truck & Logistics Simulator is a game that is already in development for quite some time. According to the official website, it even had 2 other names previous to the current one: Transport Company Simulator and Delivery Simulator. But it is Truck & Logistics Simulator that will be the name for the upcoming game. This simulator got developed by Simula Games and published by Aerosoft GmbH, which is also the publisher of another game I play, Bus Mechanic Simulator.

I had the chance to test out the game during the first multiplayer event that was held on the 17th June 2020. A select group of people got a full release key for the game and were able to group together through the multiplayer that is built into the game. You read it right! In contrast with ETS2 or ATS, this game has a multiplayer built-in and believe me, we had lots of fun during that event.

So, what is the game all about? I will try to explain as good as I can. If you look at the game's title, you can already see "truck". That means that you are able to drive trucks. But there's also the word "logistics" and let that be the part that makes this game unique and a lot different than other truck simulator games we know.

You start the game from scratch. That means that the only vehicle you have into your ownership is a minivan. You and your minivan are the starts of an uprising transportation company you have to build up. There are more than 20 unique vehicles in this game and you can get your hands on each and one of them. Of course, you need money in order to buy them. That money is something you need to earn through transportation of different kinds of cargos. For the minivan those cargos are pallets. Unfortunately, there aren't more details to those pallets as you would like maybe. It is not like in other games that you know what exactly you're transporting. The pallets are filled with carton boxes of which the content is unknown. The first challenge is to load those pallets into your minivan with the use of a forklift. And this is where the game differs from what we're used to in f.e. ETS2 or ATS. In those games, we just have to pick up loads and drive them from point A to B. In Truck & Logistics Simulator you have to load your own vehicles as well. And this by using other, loading vehicles as a forklift, a telescopic handler or a bulldozer.

Now, your first trips are definitely going to be with the minivan. But with each trip you do, with each cargo you transport and deliver, you gain experience points and money. And that is how you're going to work your way up and eventually get an entire fleet of vehicles. The vehicles which you can drive are minivans, vans, dropside vans, semi-trucks, rigid trucks, pickups, cars and even a monster truck. Personally I think the latter is put into the game just to have some fun. To blow some steam off. During that multiplayer event on the 17th, we were able to show some of that fun. You can still watch the raw footage of our stream here.

The variety of vehicles you can wield is certainly impressive and gives you hours of fun. The different kinds of loads are a bit boring if you ask me. For all sorts of vans, as well as for the rigid- and semi-trucks the cargos exist of pallets with unknown goods. Each time you have to load your own vehicle with the forklift at hand. You can even attach an extra trailer to the cars and vans as well as the rigid-trucks. For the dump truck, there is a bulldozer you need to use to load the truck with big rocks from a construction site. And then there's the telescopic handler you have to use to put containers, yes, with unknown content, on the trailer of your semi-truck.

One thing that maybe could have been done in a better way, is the unloading of the vehicles. There is only one vehicle that needs to get unloaded by yourself and that is the dump truck. You need to raise those tippers to let the big rocks roll out. Further than that the unloading happens automatically. You drive your vehicle up to a certain marked point and you immediately get a screen with the results. Maybe this will change in the future and we certainly are rooting for that. Manually unloading the vehicles would elevate this game a bit more and make it even more interesting and different from other truck games.

The graphics are not what you’re used to from other games, but they are certainly not that bad. To be frankly honest it didn’t bother us to have tons of fun with driving our cargos from A to B. There is room for improvement, but that is a good thing in my opinion. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing. The developers are having the room to improve things and hopefully, they will take that with both hands. From what we can tell they are very interactive with their community on their official Discord and Steam forum. So, that means that if you would have any questions, suggestions, remarks or whatever other items to discuss, their Discord is the place to be and you will get answers from them.

Overall I had a lot of fun already with this game! The built-in multiplayer is certainly a very strong point for this game. That means that you can have fun with friends and it doesn't even matter if they are playing on a PC or Nintendo Switch because the game is cross-platform! We barely ran into bugs or issues, but those should be solved by the time the game really goes live! And that date is the 23rd of June 2020. And PC and Switch are not the only platforms we have to expect the game on. For now, the main focus is indeed those two platforms, but there are plans to release the game on the other consoles as well and even a free version on the mobile market. The latter would be even planned for the end of July or beginning of August. This, if everything goes according to the plan of course.

So, keep the 23rd of June 2020 open and make sure you get your copy of Truck & Logisitcs Simulator on Steam for PC (19.90€) or Nintendo Switch (39.90€)!

If you want to see first what Truck & Logistics Simulator is all about before you decide to buy it yourself, you will have another chance to see us play multiplayer (or singleplayer) on the 22nd of June 2020 at 08:00 PM CET. That's the day before launch!

I personally recommend this game to all those who like transporting cargos and having fun with friends! I'll be personally waiting for you guys at the multiplayer servers. My games will be able to be found under the name ArrowsRealm

See you all out there on the road!
