Newegg Introduces Black Friday Price Protection for November 2020
In a possible sign of things to come from other retailers, Newegg, one of the most popular online tech retailers has introduced a Black Friday Price Protection guarantee for the upcoming holiday season. The policy reads in part:
If you purchase an eligible product displaying the 
badge from Nov. 1 through Nov. 22, 2020 and after your purchase that same product ends up discounted to a lower price on Newegg.com on or before Nov. 30, 2020, Newegg will automatically refund the difference to the original payment method. There's no need to track prices or submit a claim – refunds will be automatically processed by Dec. 7, 2020 and an email confirmation will be sent to you.
The policy is surely aimed at skittish shoppers who may be hesitant to spend given the uncertainty during the current pandemic. Customers will no longer have Black Friday FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) as they can be confident that if they buy a product from Newegg in November, they will be buying it at the lowest possible price that month. While Newegg is the first major retailer to announce such a policy, expect others to follow as retailers are working hard to find ways to entice shoppers during the current economic environment.
