To Avoid Tariffs, NVIDIA Building $500bn US AI Servers by 2029
The tariff wars have seen companies react to potential price hikes in a number of new ways. Most recently with chip manufacturer NVIDIA expecting to transition $500 billion AI servers to the United States by 2029.
By localising their production, NVIDIA aims to strengthen its supply chain and reduce dependency on foreign manufacturing. Joined by partners such as Foxconn and Wistron, NVIDIA will build assembly plants in Houston and Dallas, with production to begin within 12-15 months.
The move sees the company tightening its strategy in response to anticipated US tariffs, and further retaliatory tariffs from foreign regions. Emphasising domestic production, new US servers sees NVIDIA looking at new ideas to mitigate risk in the rapidly evolving AI market.
