Games for Spooky Season 2025!
GREETINGS GAMERS!!
The time is nigh gamers, the leaves are starting to fall, the air is getting crisp and all that means only one thing: SPOOKY SEASON IS ALMOST HERE! Fun fact about myself, Spooky Season is my absolute favorite time of year! I love curling up on the couch to watch some horror movies; even better than that though? Getting immersed and playing some spooky games alone or with friends!
So, I have put together a list here of some games I will be looking at jumping into in this Spooky Season 2025, including one of my all-time favorites that I play every year as the pumpkins start to show!
Without further ado, let’s take a look!
Little Nightmares III
Platforms: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2
Release Date: October 9, 2025
First off, the next incredible looking experience in the Little Nightmares universe! In Little Nightmares III you’ll take control of Low and Alone, two kids trapped in The Nowhere. Leaning still into that classic horror platforming with stop-motion inspired visuals, grotesque creatures, stealth, and puzzles. It’s the series’ first co-op entry (online) or solo with AI, which means I am definitely getting this on Xbox for some couch co-op spooky mayhem. The eerie environments of Carnevale, Necropolis, and others show off the unsettling world, which should prove for an incredible experience! If you play this one, let me know what you think!
Silent Hill f
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
Release Date: September 24, 2025
I am not sure this one needs any introduction. Silent Hill has been a staple in my brain since my childhood with Pyramid head man. In Silent Hill f Hinako Shimizu, a student, returns in a 1960s Japanese town, Ebisugaoka, swallowed in fog, monsters, and mystery. The game introduces more melee combat than recent entries, with psychological horror layered over action. This one is looking to be another incredible experience to immerse in during spooky season 2025! Let me know your thoughts if you jump in!
Tormented Souls 2
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S
Release Date: October 23, 2025
If you didn’t play the first Tormented Souls, definitely check it out! Developers, Dual Effect, do a great job at bringing the terrible and horrifying to life! In this sequel, classic-style survival horror returns with Caroline Walker exploring Villa Hess in remote Chile, dealing with cults, supernatural threats, gruesome monsters, and puzzles. It leans on atmosphere, dread, and resource management more than flashy combat. Which could be a breath of fresh air for some. Adding it to the list for sure! Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
Platforms: PC (Steam, Epic, GOG), PS5, Xbox Series X|S
Release Date: October 21, 2025
At first, I thought this was going to be another vampire BR I'd watch Shroud click heads playing. But really, we are looking at a Vampire Action RP game and I didn’t know this is what I needed. You play as Phyre, an elder vampire in modern-day Seattle. Expect supernatural powers, political intrigue, various clan mechanics, dialogues, and moral tension. The game is more compact in scope than some expected, including me, but we have promises of immersive story arcs and multiple clans creating unique playthroughs which could prove to be very interesting. I just hope I can glimmer like Edward and I'll be happy!
Phasmophobia
Platforms: PC (Windows), VR-compatible platforms
Released: AVAILABLE
Phasmophobia is a must-play during spooky season every year since its release and my current personal favorite from this list – now that might change after playing the others, but this one is currently the only one on this list that is out (and has been for 5 years, I know!). If you don’t know though, this spooky title is a co-op ghost-hunting with friends and has the space for some of the funniest, and scariest, moments. If you can muster the courage to face the insurmountable eeriness walking through cabins and houses looking for ghosts, you'll find yourself collecting evidence with various tools (photos, audio, EMF) deducing the entity your entangled with. Recent updates add more map variety, more tools, better evidence recording, and more ways to customize your ghost-hunting loadout. If you play any of these games, definitely give this one a go with your friends this spooky season!
